Elina Valovirta

Elina Valovirta is University Lecturer at the Department of English, University of Turku, Finland and a member of the Academy of Finland research project Out of the Ordinary. Challenging Commonplace Concepts in Anglophone Literature. Her fields of inquiry include Caribbean women’s writing, affect, sexuality, reader theory and feminist pedagogy. She is the author of Sexual Feelings. Reading Anglophone Caribbean Women’s Writing Through Affect (2014, Rodopi), and has published articles in journals such as The Feminist Review, The Journal of Commonwealth Literature, Sexuality & Culture and English Studies.
